Let me know if my response to Marcelo below doesn’t address your question in performing an appropriate test to validate the poor write access. Happy to try IOMeter although I’ll need to do some quick reading to ensure my test case is actually correct – I haven’t used the tool until now.

In response to the ping test:

vmkping -s 9000 172.16.0.1

PING 172.16.0.1 (172.16.0.1): 9000 data bytes

9008 bytes from 172.16.0.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.283 ms

9008 bytes from 172.16.0.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.333 ms

9008 bytes from 172.16.0.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.241 ms
